Where will the challenges take place?
Wherever you are! All challenges are set up to be completed right in your own community. A small percentage of challenges can take place at a park or grocery store, but you and your team can choose what you are comfortable with.
How do I submit completed challenges?
Once you and your team have registered, your team captain will receive instructions about joining the scavenger hunt app, Goosechase. On the day of the challenge, your team captain will use the app to submit challenges according to the challenge instructions, either through photos, videos, or questions/answers. Orchard’s team will approve your challenges, and points will be calculated automatically on the day of the event. NOTE: Only one person from each team needs to download the app and submit challenges.
Can individuals participate? What if I am playing by myself?
YES! While this is a team-based event, we want everyone to be able to participate. If you would rather participate by yourself, you are welcome to. You will just be your own team and your own team captain!
Where do I start the challenges on October 10?
Wherever you want! Our hope is that you would be able to do good in your local community while maintaining social distance.
Can I start on the challenges early?
You can only access and work on challenges between 8 am – 8 pm EST on October 10th. Remember, your completion photos/videos will need to have every teammate present in order to earn points for completion. Challenges on the app will open promptly at 8 am on October 10. However, you CAN prepare for challenges, see next question.
When will my team receive the challenges?
Every participant will receive a complete list of challenges 48 hours before the start of the event, in addition to the game code the team leader will need to access the scavenger hunt on Goosechase. You can begin strategizing with your team members to make the most of your day!
Are the challenges safe during Covid-19?
Absolutely! We have included over 100 challenges to choose from with Covid-19 protocol in mind. No matter your comfort level, you can find challenges to complete in a safe and comfortable manner. Each challenge also allows for quite a bit of creativity, so you can social distance and stay safe like a pro!
Can I take a break during the challenge?
Of course! This event is about having fun and doing good. We understand that has different schedules, so you may need to pause the scavenger hunt for a nap, a soccer game, lunch, etc. However, there are prizes! If your goal is to win, we suggest keeping the breaks to a minimum.
Are kids welcome to participate?
Yes! This is a family-friendly event and we are so excited to see kids doing good!
How many people can be on a team?
We suggest a team of no more than 6 people. The Do Good Challenge is the most fun with a team, but the size is up to you (and maybe how many people can fit in your car). Remember, safety first!
What if it rains?
This is a rain or shine event!
When will the winners be announced?
The winners will be announced on October 10 at 9 PM EST on Orchard's Instagram and Facebook. The app used to submit challenges will also have a running tally and a displayed leaderboard throughout the day.
Does the whole team need to play together at the same time/location?
Yes! In order to receive credit for completed challenges, your team must participate and appear together in each of the challenges. Additionally, only one team member will be submitting challenges for the team.
